It’s time for a Halloweensie Contest!! Thanks to Susanna Lenoard Hill for putting on such great writing contests! Here is my entry:
DEAD MAN’S DRIVE
The LAST house left on Dead Man’s Drive.
The dare? Get candy. Stay alive.
They tiptoed to the shadowed door,
and saw orange candy on the floor.
“This candy-corn is smelly. YUCK!”
“Huh?? Take a bunch!”
“I can’t. They’re… STUCK??!”
“Just grab some – hurry! Plug your nose.”
(that’s when the Monster’s roar arose)
“HEY – THAT’S NOT CANDY!! THAT’S MY TOES!”
The kids ran, screaming. Terrified.
“Don’t leave – I’m lonely!” Monster cried.
No-one returned – the town was scared.
Here’s Monster’s lonely lesson shared:
No friends will come to trick-or-treat
if you have dirty, stinky feet.
HA! That’s a cute ending. Good job & good luck!
